Dameon was only 12 years old when he became a hero. Lonely, isolated and struggling with his own problems, Dameon reached out to help Michael, the nine month old son of his PE teacher who was sick with leukemia. Dameon emptied his bank account to help pay for the bone marrow transplant that would save Michael's life. His generosity of spirit, a gift of twelve five dollar bills, inspired other students to Kamiakin Jr. High in Kirkland, WA to help raise $227, 000 in four weeks. From this story of hope and heroism, Sparrow Clubs was born.
Sparrow Clubs is proof that you are never too young to make a difference. It helps student like Dameon find their wings through giving, expressing compassion, and serving others.
